The splendour of the port designed by the timeless genius Leonardo da Vinci in the early 16th century is distinctive.
The Piazzetta delle Conserve houses the ancient ancestors of the refrigerators that once held ice, useful to fishermen for displaying, selling and preserving fish.

The skyscraper in the square next to the Grand Hotel has been there since the end of the 1950s and is still present in a sober and elegant style.

CERVIA

Halfway between Ravenna and Rimini is Cervia, a seaside town called "of the three sites" because it was rebuilt three times during different periods. Its fine sandy beach and shallow waters are unique, allowing you to safely take a refreshing dip.
Cervia welcomes those who want to enjoy stunning landscapes among salt pans and a lush pine forest.

On the subject of greenery, there is also the nearby "garden city" of Milano Marittima, which in a short time has become a basin for elite tourism from all over Italy and Europe.

Cervia is also renowned for its thermal bath, for those who want to enjoy a holiday with a combination of sun, sea, wellness and relaxation.

BERTINORO

Continuing along the Via Emilia, if you look to the right you will see two hills; these are the hill of Bertinoro and its neighbour Monte Maggio.

Bertinoro is also known as the "balcony of Romagna".
After Ravenna and Rimini, it is the most visited place among tourists because of its medieval village, its narrow streets, its gates and small squares from which you can admire wonderful views of the whole Riviera.

Archaeological excavations and a rich source of curative water have been discovered on the flat part of the hill.
In the nearby hamlet of Fratta, there are eleven springs with seven mineral-rich waters.

Reaching the central Piazza della Libertà, the Rocca stands out, built on the rock of the mountain, in an incredible dominant and impregnable position, for centuries the beating heart of the village.

Bertinoro, now home to the Museum of Sacred Art and the University Centre, is a timeless mix of culture and nature.

SANTARCANGELO

A well-known and renowned village, Santarcangelo has preserved its mediaeval identity and is in fact strongly rooted in the traditions of the Romagna.
Life in its historic centre is marked by a special atmosphere, a lifestyle of bygone days, among noble palaces, town houses, alleys and small squares.

It is worth a visit, especially for its underground part of the city. Myths and mystery enhance the charm of the wells, tunnels and Etruscan tombs that conceal another city beneath the visible one, still unknown to many.

There are many taverns, trattorias and restaurants offering traditional dishes and typical Romagna cuisine.
You can find home-made dishes and hand-made pasta, but also "cultural flavours", which refer to Tonino Guerra, the internationally famous poet born in the village...

In the Romagna...
You can recharge your lungs in the beautiful Pinewood of Cervia, sip a good Sangiovese on the shores of the small port of Cesenatico while admiring the splendid boats moored there.
Even higher, look out from the balcony of Bertinoro to enjoy the sea from a different perspective, and end the day in an excellent osteria in Santarcangelo amidst the festive alleyways.
